How about those new author growing pains? Do you ever have the feeling you just don't know what you're doing? I think it must have been much easier back in the day when the publisher was in charge of all promotion for your book. This self-promotion thing is not as easy as some authors make it look. Authors write. About other people, not themselves. We want to be ignored, be the person BEHIND the book, not front and centre. It reminds me of that scene in the Wizard of Oz, "Ignore the man behind the curtain." The book is interesting, I hope; me...not so much. I would much rather talk about my characters. When I am asked to talk about myself or write a bio, I squirm at the mere thought. Or maybe that's just me.
Yesterday, I had all good intentions of trying something new and it failed. I had it set up, or so I thought, for months, so that on Pre-order day for Swap, I could post on my blog and the rest would take care of itself (with a little help from some friends) that I have been so lucky to find, while I stumble around this great new world of being a new author in the digital age. But I'm going to try again today, with the help of some fellow authors who are generous enough to bear with me for another day, while I try try again.
And if after you've come to this point, you scroll down to yesterday's post, you'll see what I meant to post yesterday. Thank you again, for all the people who have helped me and supported me. Especially my MuseItUp Family for having my back and picking me up when I stumble.
Thanks again,
H K

Ok I'm a little confused. By swap. I read a lot of total ebounds. I've put this one in my cart twice and changed my mind. I think my main question is that this is one of the few romances where I'm not sure who winds up with whom. Is this a the grass is always greener on the other side, and lesson learned go back. Or is it the grass is really greener on the other side and I'm happier than I could have imagine?
ReplyDeleteHi Shauna,
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how to answer this question actually. Which ending would make you, the reader, happiest? Would you prefer Hailey to stay with her husband or go off with her brother-in-law, Mike? IF Mike will have her, that is.
Thanks for the question, Shauna
