What was your favourite book as a child/teenager?

The Narnia series. I love the way it transported me to another world.

Who was the first author or what was the first book you read that introduced you to the genre that you most enjoy writing in?

I like steampunk, so I have to thank Philip Pullman and The Golden Compass for initiating me to the genre.

Do you believe in love at first sight? And if so have you ever been so afflicted? Did you do anything about it? (Did you go for it?)

I believe in it, but I’ve never experienced it, and if I did I’d be too shy to do anything about it!

Is there a particular word you overuse or writing technique that your editor(s) ride you about? Mine is over using the word ‘harshly’.

“And”. I overuse it because I try to create long, flowing sentences.

Have you ever suffered from writer’s block? (Or do you even believe in it?) If so, how were you able to overcome it?

I don’t believe in it. Sometimes I’m too tired to write or come up with new ideas, but it never lasts.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

London, England. I was there for three months and I loved it and would love to go back.

Do you base your characters on real-life people or situations?

Sometimes my characters share some of the personality traits of people around me, but they are never completely based on people I know. I write to escape reality, so I don’t want to write about people I see every day.

 

If you could bring one of your own characters to life, who would it be and why?

I think I would let them remain characters in a book. That’s where I want them to stay. I haven’t yet created someone so memorable that I want them to come to life, but maybe someday I will.

 

What are you reading right now?

The Siren by Tiffany Reisz. I am hoping it will inspire more BDSM stories.

If there was a movie made of your life what would it be called? Which celebrity would you want to play you?

I am such a dull person I don’t think anyone would want to make a movie about it. Helen Hunt could play me. She’s down-to-earth and ordinary. The title? Oh God, I don’t know! Diary of an Ordinary Woman with Lots of Erotic Fantasies!

If you were to do a reality show, which one would it be?

Dancing with the Stars! I can’t dance, so I’d be the first to be eliminated, but I’d really love to try.

 

What is the craziest, most exciting, or most dangerous thing you’ve ever done?

I am not a risk-taker. I let my characters do that for me. Hmm, let’s see. I went parasailing in Thailand.

 

Name a celebrity, athlete, musician, etc. you’d most like to get naughty with.

Johnny Depp!

 

Favourite movie?

There are so many. I love action movies. I hate chick flicks. As far as TV shows go, I am hooked on Dexter, True Blood and The Big Bang Theory.

Ireland or Scotland.

Hummer H2 – it dominates the road!

Favourite Ice Cream Flavour?

 
Anything with chocolate in it. Mint chocolate chip, mocha almond fudge, etc.
